Dennis Corporation

Water Resources

Dennis Corporation personnel have provided water resources services for numerous clients over the past several years.  These projects include stormwater master plans, conveyance systems, water quality treatment, underground detention systems, retention and infiltration systems, bridge hydraulics and watershed studies.

Our personnel maintain a working relationship with SCDHEC stormwater review personnel, and are knowledgeable of current NPDES permitting standards. Dennis Corporation staff are proficient with the development of Best Management Practices (BMPs) for sediment and erosion control measures.  In addition, our employees are SCDHEC qualified for weekly construction site inspections for compliance with Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plans and other BMPs, pursuant to the new NPDES General Permit released in September 2006.

Dennis Corporation stormwater master planning involves procurement of SCDHEC OCRM grants for innovative stormwater solutions and utilizing grants to fund a system-wide study.  The study can include assessment of the existing system for the municipality, mapping of existing flooding problems and drainage deficiencies, conceptual plans and preliminary cost estimates for addressing these deficiencies and the prioritization of these projects.  An educational component can be offered to municipalities to educate citizens about the importance of keeping ditches, pipes and other drainage features free of obstructions, and to educate town maintenance personnel on ways to improve the performance of stormwater collection and detention facilities.
